ON-ON Switching with Three Terminals
An SPDT ON-ON switch has one common contact and two selectable contact paths. In one lever position, the common connects to one switched contact. In the other position, it connects to the alternative contact.
Both positions are maintained. Releasing the lever does not change the selected state. A momentary switch would behave differently, and an ON-OFF-ON version would introduce a third stable position. Neither should be selected solely because it has three terminals.
The B in T501BL specifies ON-ON operation. The final L specifies built-in screw terminals. It does not mean that this model has a locking lever.
