A customer in the rail transit equipment sector required an illuminated momentary push button switch tailored to its application. Standard catalog products could not fully meet the customer’s cost targets, lead time expectations, and long-term supply requirements. To address these needs, TOOWEI developed a fully customized solution based on the customer’s specifications.
The project involved custom development of the overall product structure, housing, base, wiring, LED configuration, and external design details. The button color, symbol, dimensions, tactile feel, and mounting-related features were all customized to match the customer’s equipment requirements. The switch was designed as an illuminated momentary type with IP67 front panel sealing for use in demanding equipment environments.
After mold development and sample production, the customer carried out validation focused on tactile feel, operating life, LED illumination color, and material performance. This project demonstrates TOOWEI’s ability to support OEM customers with application-specific switch development, helping reduce overall project cost, shorten delivery cycles, and build a more stable and reliable supply solution before full production.
